Cliente: Porto do Açu
Serviço: Development, Assembly, deployment and maintenance of nautical signage
UMI SAN was responsible for the development of all the nautical signaling projects of Porto do Açu, as well as the supply of submersible articulated buoys (BAS), in addition to the assembly, deployment and maintenance of nautical signaling to the present day. By means of these buoys, Porto do Açu avoided that millions of dollars were spent on dredging, since the BAS demarcate exactly the navigable channel, unlike the floating buoys, which have a greater turning radius, requiring dredging along the radius of influence. Another development of Porto do Açu was the navigation by double gates, with pairs of buoys every 2 miles. In this arrangement, the ship’s commander sees 2 pairs of buoys ahead, viewing the navigable channel, similar to the lighting of an airport.
